Is my wife Awsome or setting a TRAP ??

ok, here is the deal. The wife is always wating certain fish for the tank that are either not coral safe or will eat every fish I currently have in my tank. So the other day she hit me up with an idea of hers.

IDEA

Use our current tank as a sort of fish only and stock it full shrooms, and softies that are cheap and wont kill me if they get nibbled on. Then that will allow her to get some of the fish she likes (puffers, angels, etc.) In return I get to build the nano reef that I have been wanting to build for quite some time now with the equipment of my choosing. Sounds almost like there is some underlying plot to stick it to me later on down the road.


Here is the planned tank to see if the trade is worth the risk, the shallow nano has been on my radar for a while now :

Tank 24x10x9 (acrylic) drilled w/ glass-holles.com kit

Filter 20L sump

Skimmer SWC120

Light AI SOL super blue

Control Reef Keeper Elite, ALC

Flow Votrech MP20

Return Quiet One 3000 on gate valve throttle



will also be running a nextreef SMR1 with Dr. Tims pearls , 2x MR1 with GFO & carbon. Dosing will eventually be managed by BRS 2 part and Dosing pumps. ATO is from autotopoff.com with aqualifter. RO/DI is from Spectrapure 90gpd 4 stage.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Go for it.

I'd go with the shorty reactors. They're great for the small tanks. Love mine.

I would normally feel the same way, but I already have them. They will be hidden in the stand along with my sump, plus they will add a bit more water volume to the system.
