Cheato problems

Post by Eddie on Sat 17 Dec 2011, 5:16 pm

Has anyone had issues with cheato dying off? Mine is almost completely gone and I really have no clue why. I changed photo periods from 24/7 to 12 on 12 off and everything in between and it just seems to be dying off.

How old is the tank its in? When I first started trying to grow it mine died back also but after the tank got about three months on it, the Chaeto took off and has not stopped since. I run a reverse photo period on mine with a JBJ nano glo light and I have to trim it by half every week. Another thing too is you need good water flow through the Chaeto.
