With all the responces for east texas that were posted I guess its safe to say dallas is the best bet. If you go to Shreveport/Bossier there is one maybe two worth looking at (CritterCo and maybe Aquarium Concepts). But they are not worth a special trip really.

The petco in longview is surprisingly good for a large chain store, but that's still nowhere near great.

still got them too... its the prettiest and biggest frag in my tank. mom loves em lol... ofc she dont know any better.... but i do notice it trying to grow across my sand bed (its NOT on any rocks, just layin on the sand bed so it doesnt spread) and just as soon as im able to get about 80 gallons of saltwater mixed up and get my predator tank up to reef water quality levels im moving that, and that xenia and some other frags into the other tank... it just got my 20L awefully crowded....

Palythoas. They grow like weeds. It's one of those corals that people complain about them growing too fast and becoming a pest.

No ideas from me. I'm 5 hours north! Wish I could help you out with that. :-)

The key to figuring this stuff out is people visiting, and sharing their thoughts and results for others to see and find. This is a fairly young forum, and I believe you're the first to ask about Houston LFS's.

Hey Jose

I see we are getting requests for info on LFS in both this area, DFW and further afield. What about setting up a section for reviews on LFS's that have been visited/purchases made from?

Those new to fish keeping may find it useful, and I certainly would find it useful if I were to be visiting DFW as I don't get there very often.
It will depend upon the members posting their comments, but over time a picture would build up of the LFS that are constantly felt to be good tank keepers and suppliers.

What do you and the members think?

They don't look terrible.. would they make it in a predator tank? i have a tank that just has a Trigger Snowflake eel and I think a Lunar Wrasse and not much stays alive in there long....

I would stick with softies and zoas for sure. Would they make it depends entirely on your fish. The single most important question... do any of them like Texas Trash?? lol.

In Houston I like Houston aquatics for price. I bought an albino longfin bristlenose for 12.99. Everywhere else wanted 20+. For a more upscale place the fish gallery is great. They had more sw stuff plus more oddballs. The stingrays were awesome.
