Pinched Mantle Disease in Clams

I think all three of my clams have it. I've read the only treatment option is freshwater dip. I'll put some pics up later to confirm this is what it is but it sure looks like a mild case of pinched mantle. The crocea looks the best but the edges of the mantle are ruffled. The maxima looks the worst, edges of mantle crinkled up and the bottom of the mantle around the mouth won't fully extend. The derasa looks extended and the edges aren't crinkled but it has spots around the edge that won't fully extend. I've read this is almost 100% fatal in clams so I need to get on this soon if this is my problem. I've already left them alone for a month and no improvement but it doesn't look worse either. The derasa and the crocea won't be a problem to remove but the maxima is embedded in the middle of my reef. I've done some reading and freshwater dip matching tank's ph and temp is the only solution but it's also contagious so I need to treat all clams.

Anyone ever dealt with this before and have any advice before I tackle this?

Yeah Gabe, I dealt with it for a couple of months and it was fatal, I read about the freshwater dip but didn't try it because it is really stressful on the clams but if I knew then what I know now I would have dipped it because it died anyway. The freshwater did is the only good treatment if they live through the dip it might work. I didn't think Deresa's would get PM though, may be wrong there. If they been pinched that long, look for something else irritating them like pyrimid snails, could be that.

I forgot about pyramid snails. I'll check for those before I do anything. The mantle is always retracted in the same place. The clams are still growing just don't look right.

Checked for pyramid snails and didn't find any. There were a few tiny snails on the shells but they weren't pyramids. It was those little snails that you often find in chaeto. The clams actually looked better today so I'm thinking it's not pinched mantle or pyramids. The crocea looks fine. The maxima wasn't able to extend because it had grown into the side of the rock it was on. I took some cutters and removed a chunk of rock to let the clam expand more. The derasa still has some kind of issue and I'm not sure what it is.

After doing the same research, I dipped my Squamosa this morning. 30 min. freshwater treatment per Barry Neigut of Clamsdirect.com. Now it's "Wait and see..."
