Looking for a new bulb

I'm looking for a new bulb for my metal halide. If anyone has one or can give me suggestions(brand, watt,etc) please hit me up. Thanks

wattage is going to be determined by your ballast. Did you buy a prefabricated fixture or did you DIY? If you bought something pre-made then your unit should have been rated for a certain amount. Worst case scenario you can just check your ballast's ratings. As far as Degree's K that depends on what color you are trying to mimic. A deep ocean blue or a sun colored bright white. You can get bulbs from 10k to 20K, 20K being the bluer color. If you want good growth and a splash of color pop, then you would want to go with a 14 or 15k. Straight gorgeous color is normally a 20K fixture. You can also get a 10 or 12K but usually you would see these over a planted tank, but some people use them on a reef looking for good growth. The color on a 10 K is almost yellow. Whew, more than I meant to type..... Shocked

Check with Sean to see if he's got any. If you're buying... I'd go with a Pheonix 14k.

It's a 250W bulb if it's the fixture I had. And I agree you will absolutely love the Pheonix 14K.
