SOLD CAN BE REMOVED
Selling my 160 gallon. I am in and out of the hospital/Dr office too much to keep it set up and properly care for it. The measurements are apprx 65 long x 25 tall x 23 wide. The glass is about a 1/2 inch thick. It has a built in overflow and is drilled in the upper back corners. I live in Kilgore and need it gone by the 11th, we are moving to a smaller place.
I have it listed on CL for $400. but it will be less for someone here on the forum. Thanks and ask for more pics if needed. The last pic is of it set up as a freshwater. I have the sand that was in it as freshwater if someone wants it.

That's a nice looking tank and cabinet, I'm sorry you are not able to go ahead with your plan for a big Cichlid tank. What are your plans for the SeaMax?

Hello Yeti,
I am sorry I cant set the tank up too, very disappointed. As for the Red Sea Max 130, it is going to be my SW in our 35 ft New Vision RV. It has 4 super slides. I have the Red Sea Max on lay-a-way and will pick it up in a couple of days. Paid $599. for it and a totem........NEW IN BOX.
I am trying to figure out a way to keep a small portion of my cichlids. I have a 60 gallon Oceanic with stand and several other tanks (thanks to tank-addiction) so I will work it out somehow. Really, a 40 gallon would work better but I dont have one at the moment.
How are you and Mrs. Yeti? I hope all is well in your fish paradise.

Hello Grawlfang,
My health has been issue for 2 yrs so I am used to it.....just had several bad bumps in the road in the past 6 months with chemotherapy that has caused me more problems than the health issue. Thanks for the concern though.
On the tank..... it's a space issue. We are moving on to our 35 ft New Vision RV and there is no room for a 160 gallon tank. If it doesnt sell before we get moved I will store it along with the rest of our things. I didnt want to store it......but not going to stress over it. I actually love the tank.......it's gorgeous set up and I'd love to be the one to get to do that.....set it up, that is.

Re: SOLD CAN BE REMOVED
OK, I have to ask. Won't the fish get car sick when you travel the highways of Texas?
I now have the image of a bubble-tipped anemone sliding across the glass of the tank as you take corners ... shakes the image away.

Yeti,
Poor anemone! That's not right! But hilarious....we are not traveling......we are going to park the RV in a very nice park. So they will be safe and not mobile.
Thanks for the laugh

Re: SOLD CAN BE REMOVED
UPDATE ON THE 160:
The tank has some scratches on the inside front center. They are not deep enough to catch my fingernail but now that they have been pointed out, they are bothering me. When the tank was filled with water they were not visible. It looks like maybe sand got in between the magnet cleaner.
I am setting an appointment with East Texas Glass for a repair. I was told it was an easy fix but not wanting to try it myself.
I'll update when I know more.

Chris,
You are most welcome. I am very happy to have made you a good deal on it. With a little time, a little more money, and help from some of the people here on the forum you should do very well.
BTW....I have located a couple of canister filters on line and I found a man that teaches marine biology at a big school in Dallas. He may turn out to be a good source for you setting up the sump and such. If you want I can ask him to contact you.

Chris,
I talked to this man yesterday, like I said he is an instructor of marine biology. The school has a lot of used equipment. He isnt buying and reselling to make a profit, you have to watch out for that. He prefers that you bring what equipment you already have with you so he can see if he can help you make that work. He's not trying to pad his retirement acct with the sales of the used equip......just kidding, but not. (for example over flow box for $20, thats a decent price for a nearly new item that retails for $129.)
Im going to call him again today and tell him about your situation with the 160. Ill ask if I can give you his cell number. Just want to respect his privacy but I think it will be fine.
I do envy you having the 160 but I am glad you are the one who got it........it got the perfect home. I'll get back with you when I have more info for ya.......
