Any tips for a guy hunting public land on the ground (no blind). I store my clothes in a large ziploc bag with baking soda to help eliminate odor. I use control freak soap and deodorant before I go out and spray my clothes with scent eliminator once I put them on. I sit downwind from the area I am hunting and use Trails End 307 as my lure. I have seen alotta deer the last few weeks but cant seem to get them in close enough for the shot. Just bought a grunt call to try and lure them in a little closer yesterday and wanna get rattlers as well. I know Rut is right around the corner so thinking about changing scent lures as well. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I think the big neon sign above you that says "BAMBI KILLER" is the let down there buddy.
Then again from a couple of Deer Bow hunters at work, I know that neither have had any luck. The wet weather has had them hunkering down at the weekends, one gal saw a 4 point, but is holding out for a 12 point she saw in the summer, the other guy has major hog issues, it seems that the summer hasn't been that kind on the natural feed and he seems to be feeding the hogs more than the deer, such that he nearly got himself into a situation, with a boar, going to feed the deer stand. As he said "I didn't have my 45 with me, as it's been so quiet, then I stand there on the track, and have to face down this boar. It finally runs off, and is followed by about 12 others. Shit I would have been pork lunch".
