Acan overgrowing my frag plug
My acan is overgrowing the frag plug and I was thinking it would be awesome if I could attach it to a large piece of live rock and have it grow over it, but I've read that acans tend to grow around a piece of rock and will encompass it creating a ball.. So is there a way for me to put the acan on a piece of live rock to where it grows flat instead around the small piece of rock before it grows out to the larger piece of rock?

Drill into the rock and make the plug flush?

Re: Acan overgrowing my frag plug
I'm kinda wanting to get rid of the plug altogether.. So basically make a crater and stick the rock in the crater? Is there a way to make the frag lay flat instead of a bump on a piece of rock?

Re: Acan overgrowing my frag plug
It's just glued to the plug. You can pry, cut , break that frag off the plug and there will be a hard base underneath. You can glue that to the rocks or set it on a flat surface, where it won't fall, so it can grow outwards. Acans don't really attach to rocks on their own so place it somewhere that it will stay still but not get damaged. They make their own skeleton so wherever you put them they will lay their own base as they grow. If you want them to grow flat in a mat place them on a flat surface if you want them to grow in a ball leave it like you have it.
