Clean Powerhead
Hey guys,
What's an easy way to clean a powerhead? There has to be some kind of thing I can mix up and just put that powerhead in and then pull it out clean without using chemicals. Any tips for cleaning them up?

That's an excellent question, and one that I'd like to know too.

Be careful not to soak pumps too long in a vinegar mix! It will melt the epoxy that makes them water tight.

Never heard that one before, didn't think anything would effect epoxy, just goes to show, learn something new every day. I been soaking em in vinegar for thirty years with no ill effects though.

Re: Clean Powerhead
It might have been a defective unit to begin with. I stopped soaking them after that. Ruined a good pump.
