Re: Best upgrade ??
R/O Unit for me... gonna be nice not haulin those 7 gallon jugs!
edit : that shouldnt be an upgrade, that should be mandatory for a reef.
gonna say my skimmer, bc weekly water changes vs doing the same tank once a month.... yeah. skimmers are awesome!

Re: Best upgrade ??
I'm still pretty new to the hobby...so upgrading to the 60gal saltwater tank was best for me so far. I'm hoping the upgrade to T5s is soon to follow.

Re: Best upgrade ??
Hmmm... well this is my first setup and I haven't changed a thing since getting it going. The only thing I "upgraded" was going rimless. :-D

Re: Best upgrade ??
Lol... I know... best part is I didn't have to buy them. It was my Christmas gift from my parents. You should have heard the conversation I was having with my dad about that light. Trying to explain to him why I needed a $300 light for a fish tank that I didn't even have was pretty classic.

Re: Best upgrade ??
Only thing I have changed so far is my sump. But I will say once I plumb the new skimmer in that will be it.

Re: Best upgrade ??
My best is probably my water change system I made. Will make a thread on the build in case someone wants to copy it. pretty much a pump in the sump that sends water into the garage and down the driveway, with another in a SW mixing container in the garage that pumps back to the sump. pretty simple setup, but NO MORE BUCKETS TO CARRY !!!!!!

I do the same thing Bryan. Saves a lot of headache by not moving buckets of water. Especially when your water changes are 30 gallons or more.

Re: Best upgrade ??
Ours would be the new 55 gal tank we had to purchase after we bought a used tank that come to find wasn't sealed correctly and ruined my livingroom. Had a very slow leak that was dripping into the sump so we didn't know till it decided to show us who was boss and ruined a 1/4 of the livingroom floor. But we have definately learned with this hobby you have to be dedicated to keep going some times.
