If you are using a hang on the back overflo they are usually about 800 gph max per 1" drain. You want to run close to that to prevent air bubbles from accumilating in the u tube. Ie my 55 has a 1"hob 800 gph overflow and i have a 670gph pump n its not quite enough to keepvthat from happening. Once a week i have to purge the air to prevent it from breaking syphon. Get a bigger pump.
