That's the exact light I was going to use on mine as well. Im going to mod it to look like a lamp over the end table.

Re: Bryan's Contest Nano (killed by my daughter)
If you check the par and lux output tests I think you will find 1 should be plenty. Should end up perfect so the light doesn't hit the glass either. That's the way mine worked out. I don't think anyone would cry cheater if you build an overflow section into your sump for that extra water. Lol
Could you lower your gph and raise your overflow?

Re: Bryan's Contest Nano (killed by my daughter)
here is a pic of my problem :
The drain and return are very low to prevent any equipment from being seen. if the power were to fail, both lines would drain back into the sump completely draining the tank.
to solve this problem with the return line I am installing this :
http://www.marinedepot.com/True_Union_Swing_Check_Valve_Slip_x_Slip_True_Union_Swing_Check_Valves-Spears-FT9133-FIFTVLTC-vi.html
Now the drain line is an issue due to the fact that the flow of water cant be stopped by a check valve in a power failure.
Hopefully I can get this figured out in time

I really dont want to raise a stand pipe for the drain, but it may be my only option

Re: Bryan's Contest Nano (killed by my daughter)
You could seal your sump closed so that the extra water literally can't drain because there would be nowhere for the extra water to go.

Re: Bryan's Contest Nano (killed by my daughter)
that would cause serious maintanance issues with the pump . i would hate to have to reseal the sump everytime i cleaned the pump

Re: Bryan's Contest Nano (killed by my daughter)
you can either build an overflow box around the bulkhead or put the drain up higher paint it an camo it with LR.
