Just been to Petco

Petco got a bunch of fish in on Sunday. Weird day since the weather messed everything up. No wrasse for me yet, but they did have a couple species of tangs, and a couple of really nice looking Angels if anyone is interested. Just don't buy the highfin goby I'm going back for later tonight. 
Nothing of interest in the coral department though.

My loving husband bought the Blue Gudgeon Goby from Petco Monday night. Well I think he has finally learned his lesson. He knew that they were jumpers but thought the small back opening on the hood of our tank would not be big enough. Well as we were all sitting down to dinner I see something shoot to the top of the tank. We went to look and the dang thing committed suicide out of the small hole in the back. We ran over to rescue and the stupid cat was quicker than we were and ate the poor thing for a snack. At least everything else in the tank is happy and isn't trying to jump out.

OH MAN!!! I was actually going to go back for that thing on Monday night but read about it and learned that it prefers feeding three times a day and decided I couldn't handle that in my current state of affairs. Reconsidered on Tuesday night, but it was already gone. Sorry to hear that you lost it.

I didn't lose it. It got ate!! I am sorry we high jacked your fish. My poor husband is still learning you have to research a little more than just looking it up on his phone for 5 minutes. If it helps he was kind of a meany. As soon as he went into the tank he was picking on everybody. I didn't think they were supposed to be mean but that one had a nasty temper.

Highlights for me. And my taste are different I'm sure. Leopard wrasse. Flame angel. Blue tang. Pistol shrimp. Strawberry pseudochromi. Usual assorted damsels, yellow tang etc.

Hallalujah!! We have are tank a little dishelved right now because of the fixes we have had to do to the stand and getting a new tank, but I went to look in the sump on Saturday and it looks like the cat actually dropped the Blue Goby into the sump!!!! He is back in the top and doing great. A little more shy than at first but I guess stairing down a cats throat will do that to you. So the cat got extra treats for dropping the fish back in the water and we are all in AAAAHHHHHH!! That we didn't lose a fish.

We saw the fish fly out of the tank and then saw the fish in the cats mouth!! I know I would never have believed it either. We just assumed she swallowed it but unless it had a 4" baby before it jumped there it was swimming in the sump.

Been to Petco to pick up my wrasse. It FINALLY came in.
They have a Dragon wrasse eating mysis and blood worms and doing really well.
Also got an open brain in, a small green carpet anemone and a harlequin shrimp just to name a few.
Just thought I'd let you know in case you were interested.
Gabe, they had a royal gramma....but that huge carpet anemone ate it.

Honestly....I think it was either red or green. I was so distracted about FINALLY getting my fish, in the bag, home and acclimated over my lunch hour that I didn't get a good look at it or take a close notice of it. It was probably in the 2 inch diameter range.

Yeah, I saw it too....nothing terribly exciting. Another Dragon wrasse, and most of their usual stuff.
If you're ever looking for something specific, talk to Jennifer. She can print you out the availability lists and you can have her order it for you. Usually get it the next week.

Be good to your petco manager! they can get moved at the drop of a hat and there goes your saltwater section, We had an awesome petco here in Grand prairie with fish and coral and great caring service, they did so well they transfered the manager and assistant manager to new stores, now the saltwater section went to saltwater suction!

Two naso tangs, 6 fairy wrasses, 4 sixlines came in today at Petco.
