Poor Sam

Poor Sam

Post by matt_longview on Fri 01 Apr 2011, 10:06 pm

So I picked up a green goby at Petco last friday. Totally cool little fish. It's head is just way too large for it's body... which lead to me naming him Sam. So anywho... Sam is about as shy as a fish can get. Anytime I get to see him it's a treat because he hides ALL the time. So... it had been three days since I had seen him and I poked around the tank pretty dang good this morning trying to find him. I have never seen him hiding in the same spot twice... so there's no telling where he might be. But I looked everywhere that I could and couldn't see him. So I forgot about it... honestly assuming he was dead. Good news, he's not dead. He was however trapped in the filter floss. He must be able to fit in between the teeth.

No idea how long he was in there, but he appeared fine when I got him out. And by he appeared fine I mean... he immediately swam and hid. Haha.

This reminds me of the time I found a frog stuck in the trap in of my parent's pool equipment, really no idea how long he'd been there but was perfectly fine once I got him out, even after chucking him over the fence so the dogs couldn't get to him...
Glad Sam's ok, every time I suspect a fish is dead or is going to die, I'm right, it sucks being right, so I'm glad there's a happy ending every once and a while Smile
