Re: How about some Big Fish Pics!
I grew up on a river... and my best friend's uncle owned a fish shop that caught and sold catfish. There are pics of me standing by catfish that are bigger than me... note, I didn't catch them... nobody did. They got caught in a net! lol

Catchin' some flatheads this year!
Well after two years of drought I'm finally catching my favorite fish again! I started catching flatheads in March. I catch these guys on rod-n-reel, no trotlines here. Its just getting started though so I'm looking for some monsters in April and May. Here are some I have caught to date.
My first this year was a 30 pound, excuse the blurry pic, I fish by myself and its hard to get pics sometime especially with the iphone..
Next was a 34 pound.
I caught two last night, a 10 pound. and a 28 pound.

Re: How about some Big Fish Pics!
What're you using for bait , Donnie , live perch ?
I've got to start taking my camera with me . I caught the biggest LMB of my life a couple of weeks ago at the same spot I caught that sandy. 20.5" , no idea what she weighed as my stupid digi-scale's batteries were dead. She was full of eggs so I let her go .
Sand bass are nearing spawn on Sandlin. Last weekend they were coming up shallow and hitting C&C spoons as well as Roostertails and H&Hs. I even caught one on a bacon-baited catfish rig. The largest was 14" with a whole lot in the 10" to 12" range. I'm hoping the bigguns show up this weekend. Gotta love the fight they put up.

Yes I am using live Bream, thats what makes it complicated, The Bream are hard to find this year because most of my Bream holes dried up last year. I end up spending more time catching Bream than I do fishing for the flatheads.

Gabe if my knees keep getting any worse I wont be able to fish my spot much longer, I don't even know if I will be fishing it next year. When I have to give it up, you will be the first to find out where its at but as you know no good fisherman is gonna give away his hole as long as he is fishing it.

Re: How about some Big Fish Pics!
Yeti it's hard to say on the age but I figure a 30 pounder from my hole is probably between 5 and 8 years old. Thing is though I don't ever keep any of these guys, I take a picture of them and let them go back immediately. I'm a firm believer in catch and release.
