Koralia Recommendations

Post by reileywatts on Fri 21 Oct 2011, 10:34 pm

Does anyone have any Koralia Pwerheads for sale? Can anyone give me a recommendation as to which ones to get (gph)? I have a 90gallon corner bowfront tank. Thanks

I don't have any for sale but for your tank I would at least get 2 of the koralia 1400's. I have 2 koralia 4's (1200 gph) in my 75 and it's just about right but I could use less flow in spots and more flow in others. Maybe start out with 2 x K1400s and see how they do and add 1 or 2 more later if you need to. For softies and LPS 2 k1400's should be fine depending on how much movement you want. I have 2 koralia 1050s in my 40 gallon breeder with softies and LPS and it's not too much. I'd go bigger over smaller. You can always arrange the powerheads in different directions if the flow is too much. If you buy too small then your just stuck with less flow.

I'm running 2 x Koralia 550's in my 30G, with softies. I appear to have a decent water movement with Kenya Tree and Feather Duster moving gently. I have both pointing diagonally down across the back, so to reach the front & bottom of the tank I'm getting about 50" of water movement, by which time the flow is gentle.
