Welcome to the forums! Many people on the boards here can offer advise and support through the forums and we may have a few over in that area near enough to lend you a physical hand should you ever need one. You're approx an hour out from Tyler, where we have several members, but it's possible a few more might be out in that area as well.

If you have any specific questions ask away; many here on the boards have kept saltwater tanks for several years.

For general reading and information here's a page with lots of articles and reading: http://www.etakc.com/t168-new-to-saltwater

Welcome to the Forum and Matt is correct everyone here is more than willing to help. If your just starting check the for sale area and the coop buy area to see if there is anything you can use as it maybe cheaper than other places.

eww affraid you should invest in a RO/DI system for your tank for sure then. not sure of prices in your area or who is the closest to you maybe someone can help you out with a few gallons? most of us use 5G containers and have 1 or 2 ready at all times. By the time you buy enough water to fill it (30-80 cents per gallon) you could have purchased a RO/DI system. there is one for sale in the sale area but not sure how much he is asking you may want to send him a PM

Kevin is correct. I would pick up an RO/DI unit for sure. Many people who get them for their tank will also hook them up with a small storage tank and use the purified water for coffee, cooking, drinking water (with another added filter for drinking water) ect as well. Unless you have a very nice fish store nearby you'll likely have to order online.

Melevs Reef RO/DI units are very popular... he's out of Dallas.
BRS (BulkReefSupply) is also a popular brand.

Without filtered water you'll actually be putting dirty water into the tank... typically tanks filled with algae is the result. A good RO/DI unit will be a great purchase.

Welcome Douglas
As you've seen there was a group buy, and Grimreefer may still have the live rock. When I was there, there was some base rock and some good reef rock, I'm guessing with a 200G tank you'll be looking for both.
Also I think Jose had some for sale too. Both would be good sources.

Welcome to the forum. 220 is gonna be a nice tank. Matt actually has the rest of the live and base rock. I would definately make a RO/DI unit my next investment. Water quality and lighting are the key to success. Once you get it up and running with some rock and everything cycles, there is a lotta guys with nice stuff that will be more than willing to make you some great deals on corals. Again welcome to the forum.
