For sale is a Reef Octopus Triple Recurculating Skimmer rated for 400+ gallons.

Reef Octopus TDNS-300 2012-010

The Skimmer is very large with a 12" diameter body, and the recurculating is accomplished by 3 energy efficient and low heat 13 watt 500gph pumps (using less than 2/3 the power of the typical light bulb). It is an external skimmer and can be used in a variety of flow rates.

This skimmer was purchased used and repaired, so the cost has been redused significantly.

Here are the details of the repairs:
The acrylic was busted around one of the bulkheads and repaired with silicone. The bulkhead and the repaired acrylic are secure with no leaks. Here is an image:

The pumps that come with it are not quite complete as well. One is perfect as it starts up and has the venturi elbow. The second pump is brand new, and therefore needs a venturi elbow. The third pump is parts... it does not turnover.

The replacement parts are available from the Reef Octopus American distributor CoralVue. The venturi elbows are $25 and the pump is $60... meaning $110 is needed to finish the repairs.

I'm asking for $225, which is exactly what I paid for it. Anyone is welcome to see it and check it out if interested.

Thanks buddy.

Now that I got the work done to it, cleaned it up, set everything up for the picture and added up what it would completely cost to get running like brand new I've dang near talked myself into keeping it.

I'd say there's a good shot this is going on my system. :-)

Amazing story... Sean went over to Dallas and picked up some leftover parts that a guy had laying around while he was purchasing a few things from him.

Some of those leftover parts were all of the parts for this Skimmer! It was the same guy I bought the skimmer off of and he had several more pumps and the original elbows and everything! It's a small world... long story short... it's all together now! :-)

I'm gonna hook this up to the 29g and make sure it works really well. ;-) Hahahah... yeah right!

Bump. Seems like it'll be a really long time before I have a system large enough for this guy.

Being a recurclating skimmer. You can run it with 1,2,or all3 pumps. So if you have s smaller system. Then no problems.

Ohhh man.... I didn't even think of that. Would I have to raise the water in the body significantly? I haven't learned enough about skimmers yet to tell you the truth.

This thing is a beast. I'd love to keep it... especially at this price. I don't want it to sit in storage in the heat for 5 years though if I'm not running it.

You just adjust it like any other skimmer. There won't me much difference in adjusting since your not adding more water. With the addition of the 2 pumps, your adding air and volume, so then you would lower the water level due to the added air.
Make since?
Also. With it being external and running a dedicated pump the levels won't fluxuate which makes external Skimmers more stable.and easier to tune

Just twist the output pipe. That's all it takes.
