30g Cube Frag System
This is my temporary small frag system. My plan for this system is to eventually be used to place frags ready to sell. This system will be very easy to take pictures in and I'm also planning a mix of LEDs and T5 over it to make the colors of each coral perfect for pics. I can also dose coral coloring products to this small setup for much cheaper.
The tank is a 2ft x 2ft x 1ft cube. Bottom is drilled for a 3/4" return and two 1" drains (in case one gets clogged) and a 1" hole for cables in a dry area.
Did a coast to coast overflow across the back. The dry area is to the left.

To the left of me while I was taking this pic is the 200g aquaculture system... so I don't even think I asked about this little thing! Haha.

Re: 30g Cube Frag System
I'm hoping so! I'm going to put a canopy on it in the next few weeks that will as well. Will be lit by 18 Cree LEDs. Already made the fixture... just gotta finish it and hook it up!

Re: 30g Cube Frag System
Built me a canopy today. Ran out of bed liner spray paint, but I'll grab another one and finish it up this week. This really makes me want a 60g cube really bad! Lol

Re: 30g Cube Frag System
Got the LEDs retrofit into an old 24" t5 fixture. They look great. Did a water test with RO/DI and it held well so I added salt tonight. No plumbing yet, just trying to get a head start on cycling this thing. :-) Pics!
Think the LEDs are too bright??? My phone does! Haha
The actual color temp is not quite this blue. 14-16k ish is the temp.

Re: 30g Cube Frag System
Reef angel controller is programmed, hooked up and running! I don't have my ato hooked up yet.. I've got to fabricate a piece to hold the float switches at the right level.
I'm exited tomorrow to see what temps my led heatsink will run at... this controller comes with three temp thermometers.
Yesterday I started dosing mb7 as well. They say it creates a two week cycle... We'll see!

Re: 30g Cube Frag System
Well. At this point I'm assuming that I will not have a cycle in the 30g. I waited a few days and never saw ammonia. I put a red monti cap in from day one just as a gauge... looks great. I got tired of seeing my 29g looking bad, so I've moved a few things over already. The little Rea Sea prism skimmer I've got on it pulled out some junk the first few days but now there isn't much even if I skim wet. No fish, so no feeding! It's clean and even an acro frag that I moved in yesterday is doing well. I'll keep everyone updated on if I moved too early, but it seems safe to me with half live rock, no feeding and MB7 dosing. Here's a pic.

With the care you put into your tanks, I'm certain it's going to be another tank of fertility and growth.

Re: 30g Cube Frag System
Current inhabitants of the frag tank include a beautiful little duncan colony, a few sps and zoa frags, a starry blenny and this little beauty! :-)
