Hello from Minden, LA
Hello from Minden which is East of Bossier a little ways. Glad to be around and hope to get to know you guys. I have been into freshwater tanks for about 10 years now with having a 10g, 55g and 125g set up all together. My ten just had a few fish that my son wanted and my 55g was set up with live plants and cichlids. My 125 was setup with cichlids as well.
I got out of the hobby about 5 years ago selling all my gear and now I am back with a 56g column style tank. I have had it up and going about 3 1/2-4 months now. I have a 20g tall sump, eshopps overflow, 2 koralia 750gph powerheads, quiet1one return, and about 35 lbs of live rock with 25 lbs more coming today. I will have an SC-65 skimmer in the sump as soon as it gets here. Almost forgot, I have a T5 4 bulb light fixture with moon lights as well. It is an Odyssea fixture which I couldn't be more pleased with. I have some polyps in the tank but they came on a piece of live rock I am using to seed the dry live rock with. I was waiting for my lights before I started buying coral, but I am ready now.
Anyways that's me, glad to be here.

Welcome to the forums! We're glad you've joined. Hope to learn more about the system and maybe see some pics. Would also live to hear what bulb combination you went with in your T5 fixture. :-)

With it being so hard to find lights for this tank (lighting search was tough because of the dimensions) I went with a 36" light. Now the bulbs are just stock, 2-10k's, 2 blues. Nothing special yet but I am planning, when the time comes, to go with ATI bulbs for sure. Now what color combination who knows?
My tank is 30"L x 18"W x 24"D. The 30" was I guess an odd number, because I could find tons of 24" light fixtures and 36" light fixtures and just a couple of 30" fixtures but with the 24" bulb, I didn't like that much. Would rather have the slight hang over and it actually doesn't look that bad.

Re: Hello from Minden, LA
Ohhh I've got an easy fix for that...
Tank upgrade! Haha... "Sweetie look... ahhh darnit... my light is too big. Gonna have to snag that larger tank."
I've read several nice bulb combos. ATI Blue plus typically gets placed in at least 2 out of the 4.

Welcome, you've come to the right place.... I have to say, most here are pretty serious about our tanks. On the flip side.. we do so enjoy it though.
