What was I thinking???????????

Yesterday my Wife and I were in Longview, I needed some Myasis Shrimp for my clowns, well Petco was out so we drove down to Wet pets to see if they had any, of course they didn't. The thing is tho, We were walking out of the store and there it was, a big 120 long sitting there staring at us, My Wife looks at the tank and says, "There's you a new tank, I like that one" and what do I do?????? I think a minute and say na I don't like that one. Well we all know if your Wife don't really care for this stuff we should jump on any break that arrises, well I really screwed that one up. I shoulda just said, na I got another one in mind. The tank was no rr and it had a tempered bottom so I couldn't drill it and if I'm gonna invest in a 120 it aint gonna have no overflows hanging off the back. Besides, it was 120 long, not the best for a reef.

She surprised me though and dang, I let it slip right through the cracks. 20 years ago, I woulda been ordering me a 120 reef tank today.

You are right Gabe, man, I would have to have leds, could'nt go back to anything else, leds for a 120, what prolly $1200.00 or more, no more 20% water changes every two weeks, it would have to be dosing, man I hate dosing. The LEDs over mine cover 3' wide. So as long as it's not more than 6' two will cover it at 300 a piece.

Pretty good deal...that 600 in savings would go a long way! Lol

My wife did that with me too and I passed it up...except mine was passing up an unhealthy looking zoa frag.

I think if I was gonna do leds over a 120 I would have to build them myself. Get the leds and a controller and dimmer and build it all in a hood, that would be a nice project, probably would end up costing more but what the heck. Here is a link to a 48" led build that is really cool, might need a little Americanising though.

Im gonna just stick to the nano for a while. My fishing for the big catfish will start here pretty soon and I don't want to be dealing with another tank for a while.

My wife doesn't make that mistake anymore! That 120 would be sitting in the garage. RR or no RR!! I could always grumble and complain and then return it later for a RR. You have a considerable amount of self control!
