it is about time....

It is shamefull that we have not had any sort of club/forum for us fish freaks here in E. Texas. I have been thinking about this very thing a lot lately. Undoubtably we each will have bits and pieces to offer each other.

I don't know of any. Those are the only two I could find and the only ones I've been to.

For those of us stuck out here in the "Sticks" (E.Texas).. either a trip to Big D or on-line. Ask around first before ordering on-line however, more than likely someone will have ordered before. Some can be pretty sorry, while other vendors will do the right thing. Are you looking for freash or salt?

i'm looking for fresh. I've looked at some of the online stores, and the price of shipping is like going to Dallas gas money. Crazy high!

Yeah...unfortunately the online order is the only option for some species. And the african selection local is pretty miserable most of the time. Thinking my next additions will be either online or from individuals...

petland often times doubles the price of a fish and then doubles or triples the price for tank supplies last time i was in there they had a seaclone 100 protein skimmer for 180 dollars its a 70 dollar skimmer so i stay the hell out of there

I am in Van Tx 75790 and always have fish available. I have between 2000-3000 gallons of tanks up at most times. Mostly freshwater at this time but in the process of converting about 500 gallons over to salt. (903)944-3766 *James*

This is awesome to know, it's about a 30 min drive but if you are gonna have a good saltwater selection, especially of corals, I'd much rather pick up inverts, corals or fish that I can drive to and take a look at. I used to work at Petland, it was a pretty crappy gig. They only pay 7.50 an hour and to be honest, it is a start up store, they can give you enough info to get you started, but not enough to keep you going. Has anybody else seen his new "display?" It's basically a hair algae wonderland. The owners are nice people and care about their store, but the number of people they hire and small volume in the saltwater department drive up the costs of shipping and in training of personnel and the lack of knowledge in their staff only causes loss of livestock and unhappy customers.

I bought out PetLand Dallas of their aquatics department so I have all their tanks minus a few racks that I traded off. They couldn't keep their fish alive due to the $7.50/hr people they hired to kill their fish. So they sold out to me. Eventually I hope to open a store in Tyler area but that's in the future. I have done well with freshwater and just converted one rack over to Salt. I am working on my 120 gallon reef rite now. I am making my first wholesale salt order tonight

When you get it in, definitely let me know what you have and what looks good. I'm really looking to beef up my reef. And I'd definitely be willing to come see if you will let me.

hey james i bought that big cobalt blue from you and you gave me that little free fish too man that coblat blue is huge and that little guy is about 4 to 5 inches long but that would be awesome if you start sellin saltwater you had some nice tanks too for sale if i remember correctly

All the saltwater that are coming in on this order are sold already. For now just doing special order about once a month on saltwater. Should be able to stock saltwater soon though. Your welcome out anytime as long as I know your comin
