Does anyone have one of these or have done a lot of research on them?

I'm thinking about grabbing one sometime... looking for people to talk me out of it. Lol

Is there a difference?

I've been researching maxi-mini's.

mini-minis are much smaller , like ricordea size. the maxi-mini are more like baseball size. the mini-minis seem to split more than the maxi's too

Either way sounds good to me. I'm not too concerned with the eating fish thing. I've got two clowns... I think they're smart enough to stay clear. I don't have any "stupid" fish. lol. Even if they do... which would be sad... I think I could live with it. Might have to choose between a carpet and a mandarin though... I could see a mandarin swimming right into one.

Any anemone in a nano is a no no, I know the maxi mini don't move around a lot but if it decides it wants where your expensive corals are the corals are gonna loose! I would love to have an anemone but I have decided against it, some things just shouldn't be kept in a nano and I think anemones are one of them, any anemone. But hey, if you are feeling brave, keep us posted on the outcome!

they are not as aggressive towards other coral like most anemones . These are one of the few that are actually recommended for small aquariums.

Test them out for us Matt, if they do ok in yours and don't mess with the corals, I may try one.

I'm on a list for a mini carpet that's any color other than green. Lol. We will see what happens. They did say they have only had one that wasn't green though... so it might be awhile.
