You might want to post what one is and his special abilites. Especially for the new to salt crowd

Very good point.. if your having a hair algae outbreak the seahare will rid your tank of that.. he eats nothing but algae. most new tanks have outbreaks.

Also, Dan's Seahare is a "Proven Eater". I've spent good money @ the LFS only to see nothing but a big slug doing nothing!

I'll take a few pics of my tank in a few and you can tell me how long you think he could last off of a few bits here and there.

Maybe that will keep him alive long enough that someone else would need him.

he is eating good... im gonna try to feed him algae strips today..see if he likes it..i got him in my overflows right now and one side is cleaned up like new!! he does a great job

Here's the pics of algae growing in my tank. It's growing really really slow. And I haven't touched my 10 hour photo period to keep it down. If it would help I can put him in and he can likely wipe it out in 1 day. lol.

You can see in this one a little bit is growing to the right of the SPS. It's maybe 1/2 inch wide and 1 inch long.


Here's a picture of a little baby bristle star thing wrapped all around my devil's hand. Has kept this devil's hand closed up for 2 days now. The algae is off to the right... a better pic of it is down below.


Growing down the side of the rock to the right of the devil's hand. Thick little patch there... 1/2 inch by say 3 inches to the sand and then a bit there on the sand bed. It was specifically growing on this side because we have a 3/4 glass door to our backyard in that direction and sunlight was pouring into the tank every evening... I've had it covered for the last few days though.


Finally the good algae. This is why I'm not too worried about lowering my photo period. I would rather grow lots of coraline (especially the orange!) and a little hair and then deal with the hair.

So if he's in your overflow I think he's got tons more food than he would in my tank. Likely not enough to mess with?

So I woke up this morning to find every bit of hair algae in my tank completely gone. Hmmm... sweet. lol

lol sweet guess im gonna bring him back to petco

I could use the sea hare to clean up my 90 so i can get rid of it, He will eat well for awhile

Funny story....when I was up at Petco tonight someone called in asking if they had gotten any of these in that they had a bad algae problem and were wanting one of these.....I thought it was humorous.
