Hey folks...I'm looking for a 150W heater or larger, preferably inline, to put in the freshwater tank I just started for my daughter. If anyone has one layin around in their closet o goodies, please let me know.

Thanks!!

I've got a 150Watt Rena SmartHeater I just took out of my 55G tank. I used it with my Filstar XP2 canister filter, it replaces the filter intake. I don't know what I did with the instructions or box, but it's pretty easy to use if you want it.

I wonder if that would work on the filstar xp1 I've got on this one? If so I'd definitely be interested.

Pm your contact info and see if we can catch up to each other.

I love it my XP2! I also have a Penguin 350 biowheel running in the same tank. I did some modifying to my outlet pipe or the XP2 recently. "may sound funny" I added an IV tube to it and I use a syringe to admisiter meds and stuff and it just goes out with the exiting water. lol I was bored that day.

The heater will work on any of the filstar xp's. Rena makes both the heater and the canister filter.

That's awesome and a good idea. I may have to look into that myself. Got any photos?

I'd definitely be interested in the heater if it's for sale.

see i almost bought the same heater, but i gotta sump... and i didnt wanna look at it. they are kinda big lol. i like to hide my heaters, they are either in overflows or sumps ideally. on my freshwater tanks ive gotten into the habit of hiding them in the hang on filters. it works well.

For my saltwater tank, I agree, everything that I can get out of the tank the better. Not as concerned in my daughter's freshwater tank. I have a canister filter on it, so no where to put it in there, and I have the intake sticking in the tank anyway, so I think replacing with this is the lesser of all evils. I'll still have something hanging in the tank, that may be a little bigger, but at least it's black and not gray like the existing intake.
