About Led light
Hi guys
I am looking for a led light for my sump. Then I found this one on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/E27-HR16-Grow-Screw-Base-24-LED-110V-Bulb-Spot-Light-/110736555311?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c869bd2f#ht_2653wt_698
What do you guys think about it? should I buy it ? and how many would be enough?
Thanks in advance!

Re: About Led light
I would look at a different bulb. Search for "3x2 cool white led" and see if you can get a 6w bulb. That bulb is only pulling 1.6w.
I would guess a 6w to light about 4-6 inch circle of chaeto algae.

What do you think this one?
It looks like I need a transformer for it. By the way, is there a difference between 12v input and 110v?
Thank you for you help again mat.

Re: About Led light
Yeah you don't want 12v.
Here's one that would work well:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GU10-LED-6W-3-2W-down-light-bulb-450Lm-60-Cool-White-/270806966539?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0d5a610b
It's a GU10 socket (typical track lighting)... here's an adapter as well: (they might have the adapters local at a lowes or home depot, I'm not sure though)

Thanks a lot Body!

Re: About Led light
Matt, have you tried any of these in your household light fittings?
Reason I ask is that I detest the over head ceiling lights on the ceiling fans, but was wondering about the localised spot lighting effect these may give.
Also bedside lamps, if open topped shades, then the light would hit the ceiling and give reflected light for reading? Not sure, but was wondering if they could work that way in the home.

Re: About Led light
If you're trying to go for the spotlight effect these are what I would try, but I've never tried them in my house before. If you want the crisp white light go for cool white, if you want the "yellow" light go warm white. :-)
Let us know how it works out if you give it a shot.
