Update on 130 gallon with leds
Just wanted to show my final setup with (2) new Apollo 6 led lights.
this is with just 460nm blues on at 24- 3watts each
This is with 48- 3watt 14,000k whites and 24- 3watt 460 blues on each fixture fired up together.
this is a close up of one of the fixtures.

Looks good but I hope you can dim them, gonna brown out corals with the intensity.

Re: Update on 130 gallon with leds
i bought them from www.cidly.com directly in china there are a coulpe web sites that sell them from here in the states but they want outragous prices for them in total i paid 180 per fixture and the extra cost for insured and signature shipping and that was 99 from china!! but over all it was 460 and i personally think these fixtures blow the one on ebay out of the water. ebay was going to be like 440 with free shipping. they look very nice and they do handel the heat very well i left them on for over 24hr before i put them over the tank and the heat sink was not even very warm. i am very impressed and they are super bright. so i am hanging them real high at first and slowly moving them down. the cidly web site says like 1300 par at 30" but like matt said if it is only 1/3 of that then they will be good for most corals.

I still doubt 1300 at 30", but they do look extremely bright! I wish I could get a spectrograph on these guys!

Re: Update on 130 gallon with leds
i would like to really know what they do put out so i can hang them the correct distance and kinda know where to place my coral i know the center of the light will have the most par and going down around the edges buit would like a hard number, any one have a way to mesure?

Re: Update on 130 gallon with leds
I don't have an accurate way to measure no. A lux meter is cheaper than a par meter and could be used. Honestly though... to get a true "my corals are receiving this much usable light" you'd need par numbers and a spectrograph. Since they call the blues 460 blues you can assume their spectrograph is spiked in the 460 wavelength, but no idea on 14k whites. I would assume they would have more blue than most white LEDs out there. I'll say this... I don't think you're going to have a problem with not enough light in any situation. Lol.

Re: Update on 130 gallon with leds
just wanted to put up some pics for an update on the 130. many new items and i covered some of the white leds so the light intenity is now not so bright and also have adjusted my sump/refuge to work better. thanks to jason i now have carbon and gfo reactors to clean water and keep my phosphates down but let me know what yall think.

I have to say that from the last time I was there you have achieved some major growth, the tanks really filled out nicely.
