I know it's something we should all do, and hopefully we all do, but I thought there would be no harm in posting this.

I made up a batch of water last night, after a hellacious week at work, and another this evening, in readiness for the full onset of the sump with skimmer.

I always remind myself of the mix ratio by checking the bag, especially as I was tired. 1/2 a cup to a gallon, so 2 cups for 4 gallons.

Having mixed, I put the power head in and left it for the evening.

Got home from seeing Matt & Jason (Mrs Y loves the nano tank, that is one very neat outfit, thanks Jason), and went to work on the final install.

Then as usual, check the SG, just to see where it is in the 1.021 - 1.024 range. Result.... arm swings right up and hits the top stop. WHAT?

Rinse the equipment, and recheck, WHAM, top stop.

Somehow I must have been more tired than I realised, and had done 4 cups for 4 gallons. The salt sediment in the bottom of the bin was my first warning, but even so. Mix diluted by adding 4 gallon of RO/DI, and all sorted.

Never the less, it again proves that we must always check the mix, every time.
