Re: Pacu Caught in East Texas Lake
This is a greater threat than most realize. Pacus eat seeds and nuts that fall into the water.
There was a show last year ( River Monsters , maybe ? ) about men being mutilated while in the water. It turned out to be pacus.
No more skinny-dipping , guys.

It was river monsters. I guess they're willing to eat any nuts...

I'm just hoping nobody releases the piracu (?) catfish here.

Re: Pacu Caught in East Texas Lake
I've lost flesh to Oscars, my dominant male Kenyi is a hard biter, but nothing would compare to the Pacu. I had some once, oh they are like Oscars on Crack, turn the light on and they will ram the glass in shock (I've heard of them breaking a tank when larger). I didn't know just how big they would grow (20 Inches with time), and mine went in a night of thunderstorms and power failure, but so often pet stores don't tell the customer just what monsters these can become.
