Looking good! What is that under the toadstool? Sea fan or gorgonian?

Re: Yeti's 75G....... renovation
We have no idea either. It came attached to something Mrs Y bought. It looks dead, and has done nothing at all, probably why they left it attached.
But working on the principle that corals are great at looking dead, but then may show a sign of life, I just left it in the tank. It may do something, and if not, it's doing no harm and looks "interesting".

SciOps, be brave and be slow, and come to the dark side.
As everyone says, "Nothing good happens fast in a reef tank", but oh heck, bad things happen fast.
On the forum you can find at times used JBJ cube for a good price.
Post you are looking for some live rock (live sand, most of us have, and will supply you a few cup full's to seed your tank for free).
Start up slowly, with a clean up crew, snails and hermit crabs (and your kids will be entranced, let alone yourself).
A few soft corals, (there are a bunch of folks that will give you them free, as they grow like weeds in my tank, so in an established tank, I can't imagine how they grow!)
2, 3 or 4 fish, depending on the tank size.
And you are hooked!

Re: Yeti's 75G....... renovation
I don't doubt I would be hooked. I toy with the idea of setting up a nano reef but I know small tanks are hardest to deal with water parameter changes as it can quickly kill things. Quickly.
I am not impatient, and I'll probably end up with a reef tank. They're incredible. At least ones posted on this forum have been!
