My Percula Clowns have babies! AGAIN!!
Wow guys, just saw these last night when the Frogspawn closed down. Theres a bunch of clownfish babies clinging to the underside of the Frogspawn. These two been nesting forever so its about time they had some. I am not equipped to try to save the little ones so they are on their own until next time maybe.

I can just see the fun you can have with this, with you own kids.

Fingers crossed that there is a survivor.

Cool Donnie! Any chance of raising them on frozen Rotifers or does it have to be live?

Gabe
I don't know man I have never tried raising any. I really don't have anything setup to try raising them in. If you would like to try and raise some I bet we could syphon some off the Frogspawn and see. If your interested let me know. I figure they will be spawning again probably several times and I may get something setup to try and save them. It looks like they are attached to the frogspawn skeleton with a tiny thread, they say to remove the rock they are on and put it in a ten gallon without filtration but they aint on a rock they on that beauty of a Frogspawn and its epoxied to the rocks so we would have to syphon them off if they would come off I don't know. They say to feed them rotifiers and then baby brine shrimp.

I've always wanted to try but no way I'd have the time for it right now. I hope to be able to try one day. I just got a snowflake clown to pair with my female with all the black on it. It would be cool if I could raise the fry. If you ever give it a shot keep me updated.

Re: My Percula Clowns have babies! AGAIN!!
Now that they are spawning they should spawn every two weeks so I will try to get them to spawn on a piece of tile next time and if any of you guys want to try and raise them we can just take the tile out with the eggs onboard. Just let me know if any are interested in trying. You will need a ten gallon tank, air pump and beaded air stone, rotifier culture and micro algae to feed the rotifiers and when they get around 8-9 days old they will need fresh hatched brine shrimp. If your interested read up on these articles and get the stuff and as soon as I can get them to spawn on a tile you can have them.

Check out what I found,
Reef Science Plankton - Live Rotifer & Copepod Culture
$16.99 including shipping
Not a bad deal for some live rotifers and pods. Maybe a little DT's Phyto could keep them going long enough to raise clown fry.

Re: My Percula Clowns have babies! AGAIN!!
Thanks Gabe
Theres no way I can transfer the babies from the coral though. I may try to raise a future bunch if I can get them to lay on a ceramic tile where I can remove them without killing them.

Re: My Percula Clowns have babies! AGAIN!!
Just an update on the babies, they now have well defined eyes but are still attached to the coral. From my reading none will survive in the tank with the other fish including the parents wil eat them. all the articles also say not to try to raise the first few spawnings.

You guys not gonna believe this but my Clowns spawned again today! That puts them spawning about two weeks apart. I was gonna put something in there for them to spawn on but I was not quick enough.

The 2.5 pico is still up and running with coral in it, Its really a lot of trouble to try and raise these guys but I may have to try on a bunch.
