3 plug LED
So after looking at Brent's 135 gal tank with the LEDs on i was really impressed so i started looking and I found something that I think someone else would also be interested in also
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200785608152&ssPageName=ADME:X:BOCOR:US:1123
after talking with the seller he sent me a pic of the back to show that it has 3 separate plugs so you can have your moonlights, blues and whites all on different timers
The buyer even said he would take 145 for it.. I think I might order one fixture for myself :-)

Looks good, what are the wattage of each bulb? is there any warranty?
The apollo lights seem to do good, just teh price changes with currency fluctuations.

Re: 3 plug LED
yeah i remember you telling me about that and so thats what i started looking for but some of the ones i found were way too far outside of my price range but this is much more do-able especially for all the added features. It'll def work well i think with all the new corals i'm getting pretty soon
it says there are 110 pcs with 120W total
-55 bridgelux
-30 royal blue
-25 6500k whites
plus 3 moonlights
so its about 1W each
There isn't a warranty except for a return if the product isn't working properly

Fyi, I bought a set. These are actually Apollo lights and are normally $250-$300 but are non dimming. They should be here Monday. Let you know how it looks.

Re: 3 plug LED
opps was playing around with my older LED that had a broken diode, and I think I burned all of the diodes on the one string used to large of wire so it required more heat and also didn't have a pin point tip on the solder but a flat one. I just purchased a new solder iron with a pointed tip to better direct the heat, and am changing the wire back down in size I had an electrician look at it before I started to work on it for some feedback and due to the wire from the driver being 18AWG he recommended that on all connections between the diodes to reduce resistance, couldn't find any so I tried 14AWG and opps, wrong idea required more heat and I damaged the diodes on that string. I am in the process of getting new cool whites and will clear the whole heat sink and go from scratch, I already have longer power cords (old were 3ft, new are 6ft)

Re: 3 plug LED
Tinning your wire and your solder tabs on your emitters soldering points.
You can also use some solder flux as well and clean off with alcohol.
By tinning the contact points it reduces the amount of heat that gets to the emitter.
Since all your trying to do is join the two via solder.

Re: 3 plug LED
Got the lights in today and they are sweet. My tank is 56g and the lights are mounted about 31" from the bottom. Here are some red mushrooms at the bottom of the tank with just the whites on
and here are the same mushrooms with the blues on
Close up with the whites on
I can tell you that everything POPS under the blues and all my GSP and Zoas are already responding. Here is one from the front with both on.
Moonlights look good to but I haven;t taken pics yet. got to go to bed!
