Giant Duckweed and Maylasian Trumpet Snails
I have this stuff in both of my planted tanks, and I'm throwing away a pound or two every couple of weeks. It's a huge sponge for excess nutrients, nitrates, and light. It out competes algae, and keeps nitrates at 0 in my community tank. Grows fine with low light since it floats. . .anyways, I really couldn't see doing planted tanks without this stuff unless I had a huge budget and lots of time. It helps to balance things out, also makes great cover for fish. If anyone wants any of this stuff let me know, I can set a good amount aside for you next time I pull it out. This is pretty much a standing offer, since I'll always have some. You can pick it up, or I can ship it, it's no difference to me. (this stuff has survived in a sealed bag for 2 weeks in pitch dark conditions, it should ship just fine).
I also have a healthy colony of malaysian trumpet snails. You can have some for free if you want them as well, they do not eat live plants, only dead/dying ones, and are a fantastic cleanup crew, also a burrowing snail, so they do great for aerating the soil. Some people hate them though, as their population tends to explode, and they are almost impossible to get rid of.

* bumping this 'cause I'll probably do business with you in the near future*
Do you have a pic of the giant duckweed ? I have the small variety in my tank but they seem to be getting smaller under 320 watts of t-5 ( 2x 10,000 k + 2 x 460 nm actinic ) . They're multiplying well but they're probably 1/2 the size of the originals I harvested from a local creek.
I might hit you up for some malaysians. I'm trying to get a good snail population going in anticipation of adding a small school of clown loaches.

I have a very healthy population of MTS's in one of my cichlid tanks, control is easy for me, I just filter net a load, then drop them into the tank with the 6 Clown Loaches...... very happy loaches.
