Do I keep the filter going? let the water settle by turning off filter? BTW I have no fish in my tank!

It'll be an overnight thing for sure. You can keep the filter running, it'll help.

yup.. it took my tank 3 days to clear up good... i ran the skimmer and it pulled a lot of the fine particulates outta the water. only bad thing was it was so nasty afterward, i had to take it completely apart to clean it
