Cichlid scarring Empty Cichlid scarring

Post by bigeflashgordon Mon 29 Jul 2013, 1:08 pm

In my father in law's tank all 3 of his big oscars are getting white and cloudy eyes
Oddly though, He has a large jack Dempsey that isn't effected. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this before with big cichlids? He added the 3rd Oscar a few days ago and after a few days of fighting this is what occurred.. I think it's probably scaring from fighting, but it seems more serious than a few scrapes and nips.. If anyone has an experience or advice to give we both would greatly appreciate it

Thanks
E

I haven't kept oscars but I did sum research and its either nitrites or a bacterial Infection, as these are the main cause in most cases. From what i read big water changes, mela-fix or something comparable, and raising the temp to 82 where the most common suggestions. Hope this helps you out!

Yes, I agree..I have no clue about anything to be honest but I researched and a bacterial infection is what I came up with as well.
This is another forum but it kinda gives ideas..
