I don't even want to think about the logistics of what it would take to actually teabag a tank...

Re: the unwanted improvised african display...
just guessing i wouldnt say very old at all, the head is quite narrow compared to the fingers in the pic, pacu grow to be quite thick indeed.
my 2 pacu got... this big... and had teeth just like that. when i got them they were about 6 inches, and blew up over a foot long in less than 6 months. they grow VERY fast.
in short i will flat out tell people to NOT buy these fish unless you have a swimming pool for them to go in. they dont stop growing till they are about 3 feet long.
this is exactly the kind of fish that PISS ME OFF when i see them for sale at walmart.
i mean christ i had a 240 gallon 8 foot long aquarium and they out grew it in no time.
these are NOT aquarium fish.... they are river monsters.

Re: the unwanted improvised african display...
pacu is supposedly an excellent eating fish.
in the wild they live primarily on fruits and nuts that fall from trees into the water. i would bet that would make a nice tasty fish...
these guys tho... YUCK!
ever eat a sinking algae wafer? :-/
now imagine its 10X worse.
just wanted to point out, i tried for literally months to find a home for these guys, thru an ad in the paper, craigs list, and a couple fish forums, before i put them down. they broke the top glass on my tank twice. that was twice too many. the damn zoos wouldnt even reply to my emails.
should be against the law to sell a pacu... seriously....

Re: the unwanted improvised african display...
It should be against the law to sell a lot of the tank busters. Unless you have documentation saying your tank is above a certain size, ie 300 gallons or so. It sad to see these fish in 55 gallon tanks time & again.

Re: the unwanted improvised african display...
well i bought a 55 gallon tank from a friend of mine, which is now my saltwater agressive tank, and the 2 pacu came with it.... and i really didnt want them, and tried to give them away the whole time i had em. they nearly broke me buyin them food lol, the two of them ate atleast 3 times more food than the entire rest of my tank. i could put a whole bag of algae wafers in there and they would eat every single one.

Dude I don't think anyone could blame you in that situation, but I have to admit I'm curious how you put them down.... a picture tells a thousand words so I'm assuming a cleaver was involved?

12" bladed Chef Master butcher knife....
the 2nd from the top
its 18" overall. basically a stainless steel machette.
in this case, can you think of a better tool for the job?
