Warning about your salt mix!
Ok guys
I have posted this on here somewhere but since then I now know this for a fact.
I always used Reef Crystals and always had good results but in the last few weeks I purchased a new 160 gallon bucket of Reef Crystals. When I mixed it up as usual and checked the params, I only got 3 DKH for the alkalinity. Well as there was some doubt as to my test kit, I ordered a new test kit and low and behold after mixing new water yesterday the new test kit shows the same thing 3 DKH. This is bad enough to crash a reef tank if gone unchecked.
Morel is BE SURE TO TEST YOUR NEW WATER! I use RO-DI water with "0" TDS and the Reef Crystals should have a DKH of 8-11 but 3 is totally unacceptable. Well as in my other post all the customer service wanted to do about it was have me send them some cups of the salt on my nickel. I got a better idea, I just stop using their product and go to another brand.

Re: Warning about your salt mix!
Well, I got another confirmation on the salt, Gabe tested the reef crystals and got the same 3 DKH, that really sucks but it probably happens more than we know!
