May Meeting

Who wants to have a meeting in Tyler sometime in May?

Do we have a location?

I would be there, work permitting.

Who knows of a good location?

Ask around at the LFS... they will usually be more than happy to host for a "Club". Sometimes they'll give out freebies or discounts even. Petco here in Longview are always willing to host/ help.

Ohh ohh..we could ask Petland!! And help them see all the dead fish in their tanks....

I would love for their to be a meeting in Tyler. I am new to all of this but I work at petsmart here and we have a big training center in the middle of our store. My manager and I are really big fish hobbyists so I know that she would be interested in possibly having it there.

Ohh....if someone was able and prepared to show how they made their own LED lights that would be wonderful. My experience with electrical is a) all UK based, where we have a live, neutral and earth wires b) limited to putting plugs on items / rewiring lounge lamps c) Electricity Scares the Beejabuzz out of me.

Im going to head down to Petsmart tomorrow to talk with the manager.

I don't think They will let us have it at petsmart. Corporate is coming to our store some time this month so the managers and my boss are all pretty busy with that.

I'm sure corporate would love to hear that they're too busy for the local fish club... likely not one of the effects that they're hoping their visit causes.

I know but to be honest I think Corporate are the ones that would rather us not have the meeting. Maybe I could type something up to give to my boss about the meeting and what the group is all about. Maybe that would persuade him. What day and time would the meeting be?
and maybe it's something that customers could sit in on? My boss is all about customers.

It was stated after that first meeting we had at Bodacious, before this forum was set up, that the meetings should be held at a LFS. Seriously though, what LFS around here could hold a meeting? Wet Pets? I don't like going in there on weekends anyway because of all the people running around in there and now the place is smaller than what it used to be. Petco/Petsmart? Same deal really. It would just be a bunch of people staggering around in front of the fish tanks. Not to mention the crowd that would be there on the weekends when they have the puppy wagon there. Not only that, do you think Wet Pets would let us come in there and trade corals like we did last time at Casa Ole? Wade had a better selection of corals than all the places in this area combined.

Agreed. We need to plan another Longview meeting at one of the MANY locations we've said we could hold it at and call it good. :-)

OK. who knows of a good longview location.

We can have it at lifebridge if they ever get too large for the other locations or if there isn't one ya'll would prefer more.

I voted for the 14th , but due to the lack of interest so far, I am willing to swap to the 21st. Sundays will be very tough for me to make due to my Baseball Schedule, all games on sunday for me.

Any of the Saturdays is really my vote as well. I voted 21st... only because 14th is quite close and I didn't feel like waiting for the 28th. Haha. :-)

Sounds like the 21st is the winner because matt and I are cool like that.

We can have it at Bodacious any day except Sunday. If no one wants to meet there then someone needs to find a place. I sent a message to Wade about bringing some corals like he did at Casa Ole and he said he was available on the 28th after 2pm. Sooooo, I voted for the 28th. But, if we can't get at least the group of usual suspects together then we need to plan it for another day.

I'm playing in Regional Tournaments both the weekends of the 21st. & 28th. Winners advance to Vegas. Y'all may just have to carry on without me.
