I had lots of urchins come out in mine but I got rid of em because they were the black rock boring urchins and they eat coralline, several were getting pretty big when I pulled them out. The worms were probable good worms , mine is full of spaghetti worms and bristle worms and some peanut worms but all these are good for the tank, most anyway. I did pull most all the Macro Algae because it was growing so much, it looks cool until it starts taking over. I still have Helamedia all over but that is cool, its calcareous. The rock is full of pods too. keep us posted on what you see, check it out at night after lights go out.

I will post some as soon as I get it home, Did not get the Premium Rock, still a newbie, did not want to kill hitchhikers. Maybe at a later date I will go for the Nice Rock like you have.

How is your rock and tank coming along, the cycle going along as planned? Send some new picks, if Ammonia was gone when we talked, Nitrite should be getting low by now.

I just got mine from the ups, but the clams are dead. I hope there are more survived . Also there are red stains on them, I think they are oil from the ocean. But not 100% sure about it.

Anyway, Thank you for your post, the rock looks great. Very Happy

Clams should not be dead unless they are gaped open they are alive and are sealed up, they will open when in the water. A dead clam will be wide open and stink terrible. Send pics but get them in water and see, lots of stuff looks dead but will come back. I also had a red clam on mine but it wasn't stain.

I do have the alive one on the rock, when I put my finger close to them they will close very quickly, that is how I learn that the others were dead. however I think you are right about the red stain, they are maybe just some special kind of sponge which I do not know. I may take some photo and post it on here soon. Thank you again.

Yes that is orange sponge, Mine is still alive, it does well but the orange Linkia likes to eat on it, leave it and it will grow if it wasn't out of the water to long. Sponges usually die if exposed to air for very long but it may live and grow.

I got the same rock, and the Red Stain is a sponge, I got red, orange and black on mine, also got a couple Curly Cue Anenomes that looked Like Aptaisia but don't be alarmed, aptaisia is a pacific water anemone. A good site if someone has not given it yet for hitch hikers is : http://www.tbsaltwater.com/thepackage/organisms.html

Yeah, I had those in mine to but my peppermint shrimp don't discriminate between curly cues and Aiptasia and I don't either, The way I look at them is if I didn't put em in there. I don't want em in there. Those little anemones do pack a powerful sting if you are planing on putting any corals near them.

I agree Donnie. That curly cue anemone looks a hellofalot like the aiptasia that I know and hate. I wouldn't even take the chance honestly. There's nothing that will take over a tank worse than aiptasisa....except maybe mojanos.

I agree with you both, I just was trying to convey that they will not spread in you tank and take over like the Aptaisia!
