Re: 125 Gallon Mixed Reef
Thanks...
The original plan was to put doors on my stand but everyone insisted that I leave it open so I could show off the sump.
By the way.. How do you load pictures into the forum? I can only figure out how to attach the URL for Photobucket.

Pictures don't do it justice! That is one of the biggest toadstools I've ever seen!

Re: 125 Gallon Mixed Reef
I got the toadstool from some people that were shutting down their tank back in October 2008. At that time, it was about half the size that it is now. I believe the people before me had it about three years before I bought it from them. I would say that it is probably at least 5 years old.
I would guess that it was about 6" wide in the attached picture. The picture was taken shortly after I got it.

Re: 125 Gallon Mixed Reef
I have one with a head about the size of a nickel that is attached to a nice piece of live rock. I have no idea how long it takes to get to a decent size. Let me know if your interested. I could probably let it go for $15.

Very Nice Tank. I would never get away with an open stand, my 2 yr old would have god knows what in the sump.

Re: 125 Gallon Mixed Reef
Grim... Thanks. I went with the suspended hood in order to keep the temperature down. Those 250's put out some heat and an enclosed canopy is a horrible idea.
Thanks rml3864..

Re: 125 Gallon Mixed Reef
I've seen this tank in person now...and I can truly say the pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful tank. Great people too, fun when Billy's wife gets all excited talking about her anemones too.
I was just talking to my wife last night about the suspended hood and open stand. Unique to what I've seen and I have to admit, looks really nice as well. There's a few pictures I've seen of people who wouldn't dare have their stand "open to the public" but they've really got a nice setup over there.
