Matt I'm sorry about the hassle you have been put through, a green hairy shrek I'm sure I can get, but the hassle, and set back to your tank.. hell no.

One positive from all this is that the rest of us have learnt that you don't mess about with Marine Shreks, either move it whole, rock and all, or don't touch it.

Out of interest, do you think it would have been more stable to move if you had scooped it, rock and all, in a beaker/cup etc? So that it never actually felt air.
Just wondering.

I don't think it was air at all. I think a few of them got snipped or cut in a few places (and all of them got ticked from being poked, prodded and moved) and started releasing their little toxin stuff. After that I think the others started defending themselves. Too much toxin in one little area... recipe for disaster. This morning the water is clear, the smell is gone and I'm once again thankful for chemi-pure elite.

Still gonna do a 4g water change before I get my new babies in today. :-)
