You did the pics right. Great looking system. I'll be doing a DIY LED build in the next couple of months. I'll post plenty of pics of the project. :-)

Re: 130 UP AND RUNNING FINNALY
Your off to a great start! Sump came out good. As for the HA (Hair Algae) & the Red Slime (Cyano) I would leave your tank COMPLETELY DARK for 4-5 days. It won't bother anything. Go ahead and put your Macro in the sump and turn it's light on to keep it growing/ alive. As for a UV sterilizer, I would spend the money elsewhere. If I owned one, I would try it... but not going to buy one. Keep in mind, Phosphates are what fuels Algae growth... keeping them in check will be key to eliminating HA & cyano. There are several sets of "Used" lighting here... used will usually save $$ and be just as dependable. For a tank your size, I'd recomend 2 pendants... MH or LEDs. Good to see it up and running & looking forward to seeing the progress!

I would get rid of the deep sand bed right off the bat, it will only cause you big trouble in a few months. Deep sand beds are a crash waiting to happen. I would reduce it to about 3/4" or less just for looks. The liverock will do the filtering for you. Not sure but I think most folks on here will agree.

+1 on the sand bed. I have tried then but have never had success with them. Looking good so far. If u decide on MH lighting I have a pair of Icecap 250s I would be willing to sell.

Re: 130 UP AND RUNNING FINNALY
SHHHH guys, now I know who to hit up for sand for my sump when he decides that Sulphur Dioxide isn't a reef supplement....
I'm actually blending Reef Crushed Coral, with a rather special supply of "Original" Florida Gulf Sand" in my tank, which I will then split, and put half in my sump.
I'm going for the "sand with some crushed coral effect" in my bed, may work, may not.

Yup. Several years ago I moved my 20 gallon to the bedroom . I took a large base rock out of the sand bed and released sulpher dioxide which killed the entire tank ( and made me sick as a dog as well).

Re: 130 UP AND RUNNING FINNALY
SO DOES THE SAND IN THE MAIN TANK LOOK BETTER AND THIS IS AN UPDATE ON MY ROCK STRUCTURE AND MOVED ALL OF MY SHROOMS AND MY 2 CLOWNS, BLUE HIPPO TANG, YELLOW SPOTTED GOBY, AND SCOOTER BLENNIE TO THE BIG TANK. OH I FILLED UP THE SUMP WITH LIVE ROCK IN THE SUMP WHERE THE WATER COMES IN FROM THE TANK AND FILLED 3/4 OF THE REFUG. IS THAT WHERE IT GOES OR IN THE RETURN SIDE TO??

Re: 130 UP AND RUNNING FINNALY
You did good on the sump, liverock in the section where water enters and some in the fuge if you want. You have plenty of liverock in the display tank BUT You still have too much sand in there, thats still a deep sand bed, no more than 3/4" is all you need anything deeper is a bomb waiting to go off, sulfur dioxide is not good for the fish or corals.

Re: 130 UP AND RUNNING FINNALY
That rock work looks good, how long did it take you, or is it resting on the back of the tank?
From what I've read about sand it seems that if the sand is level with the black base surround of the tank then its about 1/2 to 3/4". It covers my egg crate but isn't much deeper than that I guess.
Donnie is it OK to go deeper in the sump, or do the same rules apply there too?

Yeti, if I were doing it, I would not go more than 3/4" in the sump either. If a deep bed will fail in the tank, it will fail in the sump. Only differece is in the sump there is usually a lot more flow across the bed than in the tank but I wouldn't do a deep bed in the sump either. You gotta ask yourself, what is the bed for? The liverock does the filtration along with a skimmer if you use one. The sand is just a collection point for ditritus, if its a thin bed and you stir it occasionally when you change water it stays pretty clean, a deep bed on the other hand just sits and collects ditritus and fecal matter and all kinds of crap and eventually goes toxic. If you ever stick your hand into a muddy lake bottom and smell the mud you pull out, thats what you get in a deep sand bed.
