Flat Worms
Back when I was buying up a bunch of corals I made the grave mistake of Not Dipping! Unfortunately, I picked up flatworms along the way. First lesson! Never put fish or corals in your tank unless you dip and quarantine first. The flatworms never got to the plague proportions that many reefers fear but it was annoying me that they were in my tank. I bought some of the Salifert Flatworm Exit and followed the directions and within 10 minutes they were all dead! I highly recommend the Salifert if you need to get rid of flatworms. I treated the tank this morning and have had no visible problems with my corals or fish.
By the way, I tried a few biological methods, six line wrasse & coral banded shrimp, but they just ignored the worms and ate everything else.

Re: Flat Worms
I've been lucky so far. I have not dealt with the bad flat worms yet. I've heard the target mandarins will eat them but it's hit or miss just like anything else.

Re: Flat Worms
chemical med's are an excellent way to crash a tank. ive seen a 120 gallon tank with planaria infested in it, dosed, and crashed and EVERYTHING is dead in a day. i would DEFINATLY have a batch of water mixed up and ready to do a waterchange before dosing anything to your tank. those critters may be small, but when theres a million of em, thats alot of dead animal for your system to have to process. Amonia is never fun.

Re: Flat Worms
Your right Win. I keep fresh and mixed saltwater on standby at all times. Especially, when I treat my tank for something or try a different additive. Better safe than sorry. Another point, I spent 2 weeks siphoning the worms out before I treated the tank. Even after I treated the tank I was siphoning themout as they were dying. They are highly toxic in large numbers!!!
