Thanks for checking out page 1 of my build thread. It was a pleasure to be a part of your minimum post to sell run there. ;-)
Lol. Those other 14 pages get much better than the diagram, I promise!

I've always admired that diagram. The attention to detail in the live rock rubble has always fascinated me.

OK Matt.... so what's going on "up north?" I cannot believe you have stayed saltless and dry for so long!

Re: Matt's 29g Custom LED
Things are going extremely well. New job is incredible, and the church I'm working for here is amazing. The organization and structure is ridiculous! I'm over 450 children per weekend here and 3 staff members. Our new 1100 seat adult auditorium will be opening next weekend! Really exciting time right now.
As far as staying dry for this long is concerned... it's not by choice, it's by force! Haha. I'm forced to not set my system up right now by a lack of time and money. Thus far on every day off I've had (both of them that is), I've been getting safety inspections, licensing, emissions tests, registration ect. No place I'd rather be... than the DMV!
So the "house budget" literally cleaned out my tank stash (which was built up to a nice $1,300 before we left TX). With no tank cash I'm in limbo mode. Can't wait until I can get everything setup! :-)

Re: Matt's 29g Custom LED
How did you make that tank rimless because I have
A 29 gallon tank that I'm going with LEDs now and I want to make it rimless also.

Re: Matt's 29g Custom LED
Oh man... sorry for the LONG wait here Danny. I literally took a saws all, pliers and a screwdriver to the typical 29g tank. Shhhh had it for sale not long ago. Snag it!
I'm getting closer and closer to setting up a few tanks. I've got the 29g biocube prepping now and I've put together the things needed for my 100g frag rack. I'm back and forth on a mantis tank or a fancy clown pair. Either way I'll go low fish bioload and a zoa/SPS tank. I also can't help but put 3 or 4 clams in there.
The 227g is on the back burner until the home in TX sells.

Re: Matt's 29g Custom LED
So where or how did you get the 2nd area of the tank where the heater and stuff is. I have a 30 gal and I really like the setup you have here.

Re: Matt's 29g Custom LED
I custom cut pieces of 1/4" acrylic and siliconed them in place. The design is listed on the first page of the build. The only thing I'd do different is make the area on both sides of the initial media rack 1/2" leaving extra room to get to the pump and rock rubble. Then rather than placing my reactor in the larger area I'd use a Next Reef Shorty reactor and hang it on the side. I'd likely go 4.5" out from the side rather than just 4". I'd also do the acrylic and silicone in black rather than clear. I'd set the tank up room divider style so the filtering and hang on equipment is back against the wall using a 40 breeder. It would be gorgeous! :-)

I used to live in Longview... but I moved up to St Louis last year. Still haven't switched to a different reef club. Lol.
