No worries man tank has been up and going for about 3-4 months now. It cycled back in January.

Maybe one of these days I will figure out what settings I need to be on to take decent pics, but here goes a few anyways.

Forgot to mention, the Pink Birds nest, Valentine damicornis are not mine, trying to help out a friend and nurse these two back to health. I am sure there are a couple guys that will recognize a couple things in here.

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
Thanks guys. Funny thing is when I started this tank I always thought the hardest part was going to be finding the corals I wanted, wrong. Hardest part is finding the fish I want for this thing. I don't want to overstock my tank, but it looks like I have nothing in the tank. Looking for some suggestions. I am thinking 2-3 more fish and a good mix of color. I was thinking maybe a Bi-color angel or Flame Angel, but I don't want to take the chance that they will nip the coral.
Fish List:
1. Ocellaris Clown
2. Black and White Clown
3. Yellow Prawn Goby
4. Purple Dottyback (called it a strawberry pseudochromis)
5.

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
cardinal, some type of reef safe wrasse, chromis, blenny. I usually look at websites for sale to see what I want and then research if it's worth adding to my tank or not. I always had bad luck with angels nipping.

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
Yeah... I've decided against Angels myself. I just love corals far too much. The tank is more about the corals than the fish for me though. If it's more about the fish for some, then perhaps the angel is worth it.
I browse Live Aquaria often just checking out fish and imagining which I'd purchase. Do research separate from their site though. You always want to gather more than one opinion.

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
Mandarin goby would be nice. Just make sure you havebplenty of pods for irbil eat. A nice small tang would be nice and also beneficial.maybe a hawk or something like that. Just a few suggestions.

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
Mandarin is one I am reserving a spot for, but like you said I want to make sure it has enough food. Live Aquaria is the one spot I look at when I am at the pet store and find a fish that I like, I always check on it to make sure it is reef safe and what the fish eats. I also thought about getting a small tang, but once it out grows the tank what will I do with it comes to mind. Buy a larger tank? YES!!!!! But, the wife is always there to go, yeah right, NO.
Back to the mandarin. Is there anything I can do now that will help or jump start the pod production? I have a refug in my sump with live rock and chaeto already. Buy some of those Reef Pods I see in some of the LFS around here?

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
I used the Reef Pods and it worked well for me. I've got two new kinds of pods in my refugium now because of my last order. If you order one let me know... maybe we could order two instead of one and each of us get half so we get two different types. :-)
What LFS are they at though? Perhaps I should just snag a few from them. I had never noticed them at a LFS.

Tank looks great but you might want to move the Green Star Polyps from the rock to the glass. They can spread quite a bit .

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
I was looking at the placement of all the corals and have changed a few of them around. The GSP's look like they are taking over that plug pretty fast, but could just be me and wishful thinking. I put it where it is for now but will probably have to move it soon, just not sure where I want it, heh.

Re: 56g Reef (Pic Heavy)
Wanted to post a few pictures of what the corals are looking like and a little progression. I am still battling with algae growth, I got rid of all the red slime algae for a few days but it is coming back. I will do more research and battle it this weekend.
Green mushroom that I saved from the LFS when I bought the Eagle Eye Zoa
The SPS on top of the world
Frogspawn
New Zoa's
Hairy mushroom (it split so I have a smaller one on the backside of the large one.
OMG!!! I noticed he had his mouth wide open when I loaded the pictures on the computer, lol.
