he came out of some rock that I brought home from the Galveston area with my hermit crab.... although a second Id on him would be great to.

Did you ever get an id on this? I have one that looks the exact same I caught it out diving off of mustang island near corpus christi. I was told it was a tube anemone.

The best I have been able to Id it its a gulf warty anemone. I am going back to the galveston area where mine originally came from this march and I have a few places down there I want to talk to about it..:. But you can give me a call or shoot me a text and I'll give you the info I have on them and we can compare info on them as there isn't very much out there to find

Try posting the pic on the Houston reef club forum. They have a thread on there somewhere that IDs all the stuff you can find in Galveston. I'm sure they know what they are.
