Re: WANTED! freshwater inverts
Buy a small minnow trap at Wal-Mart and drop it in the nearest pond , lake or drainage ditch for 24 hours.
Bait it with bacon for crayfish and romaine lettuce for snails.
If you're unsure about water quality, quarantine for a month before introducing them into your main tank.

Re: WANTED! freshwater inverts
This time of year you may be able to hit up some place that sells crawfish for food too. Maybe you could talk them out of a live one for cheap. I go down to the lake with a dip net and flip over rocks and there is usually something under the rocks. Usually a small catfish or a crawfish.

Re: WANTED! freshwater inverts
That would be a negative. They are about the same size and would not suggest putting them together. I may have some more blue marble creys in soon. Those might do ok.

Re: WANTED! freshwater inverts
i used to use a piece of bacon on a string as a kid. i'd go along dirt roads that usually had alot of water in the ditches and they'd be everywhere. i wont be able to put any shrimp in my tank unless they are at least 4". i have a 10" red oscar, 5" green terror, 5.5" featherfin cat, 6"aeci and bumblebee, female red german male convict and electric yellow pushin 4.5" each, a living blue stonii and a dragon blood cichlid at 4", 2" ruby crystal peacock, two 1.5" bolivian rams and a 9" pleco. oh and a 4.5" tinfoil named leftovers.. i had 5 and he was the only one "leftover". my tank is fairly aggressive to say the least.

I usually get the blue marbled creys at 2"-4" the Red Cherry Shrimp are small. They are maybe an inch at the biggest.
