Got the sump cleaned and installed last night. I bought the wrong size tubing (1/2") for the return. Going to Lowes this afternoon to get 5/8". Hopefully all will be running this evening. I'll post a pic later.

Is there a trick to getting the water through the pipes from the overflow box into the sump? I know I gotta get the air out.....

Run a piece of small air hose into the back of the tube and just suck it out. Sounds fun huh? The siphon will start once the return pump kicks in. This explains it pretty well.

You'll probably get a mouth full of saltwater and it will take a few stop/starts to figure out your sump level so it doesn't overflow. If you have an Aqualifter pump then all this is a little easier.

Got it. Everything seems to be running like it should. I'm gonna have to sell that Remora Skimmer, its just too loud to have in the living room. Its doing a great job though. I'll post a pic of the sump when I get a chance, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

It was in my living room too and it wasn't disturbing at all. I'm not saying you couldn't hear it but it's not like we had to crank up the TV volume over it either. I do have 3 kids and a dog too so maybe I just tuned it out. When I moved it to the sump then I didn't notice it at all unless I opened the doors on the stand. Make sure you turn the pumps off and do some practice power outages to make sure your sump isn't going to overflow when the water drains back down. There needs to be a siphon break hole in the return line just above the water level too so the return doesn't siphon too much water back into the sump and flood. Not sure how you have yours set up but it's better to do all that now rather than when the power goes out.

I drilled a small whole where my diffuser connects to my output that did the trick for me...
