I am planing to put more tetras in my 55G since the killer angels are gone.
Any idea about how many should I keep to make it looks nice?

Depending upon which Tetra and what your filtration capacity is, if you are running filtration of 70G +, I would proably do the inches per fish.
I did a tetra tank many years ago, and had that sort of ratio. Just didn't like that some types are extreme nippers (Glowlight etc), they lived about 2 years as I recall.

I am using Fluval 404 and 304 together. What do you think of keeping 40 of cardinal tetras?
By the way, I have plants in there as while. The only survivor left are java ferns and some swords. Still learning keep plants alive Suspect

The two combined are quoted then at 170G, which is to me a lovely 3X tank size.
I'm not sure just how well Cardinals do with that level of occupation, but working on a max size of about 1.25 inches and the level of filtration I would have thought you were good.
What else are you going to put in there? Clown Loaches like similar water conditions being SA too, they will give an alternative in colour and design, generally are peaceful (and if boisterous generally with each other) and will give you some bottom of tank activity. They are a must be kept in group fish though, they say 3 minimum, some say 4.

I have one redtail shark catfish in there, and I dont plan to put anything else into the tank anymore.
Do you know where I can find some good looking wood for the tank? I found out that aquascaping is very hard to me.

Urgh... I have heard so many options, from folks going to the lake and dragging a lump home, boiling it for hours, leaving it to dry in the sun, etc. To going to the petstore..and boiling it for hours to get out the tannins (and not the bugs) etc.

I bought a piece, boiled it half in half out, then reversed it, over an evening.
I then put a carbon pad in the filter, for 2 weeks, and the tanks been ok, just a gradual tannin darkening that goes with water changes.

For a 55G I bet you are wanting something "architectural", I wood (sic).
Other than get out your cheque book, or go beach combing then soak for ages, I have no suggestions sorry.
