Re: 35 gal dwarf cichlid
Thanks man,
Yeah it wasn't that great for me for a few weeks.. Ive heard horror stories like that before so I kept all my fish in holding tanks until the levels stabilized..I think I did like 5-6 large water changes over the next couple weeks to get the levels back down bc the organic matter was either floating, leaching into the water Collumn, or decomposing in the water.. I'm pretty happy with the results now might even start another planted tank in the future

Re: 35 gal dwarf cichlid
Well when i did mine i just used the poting mix with no sand on it, it took like a whole month for it to stop floating debris, then a month later i put in two convicts and within a month they had spawned in there so i thought it would be safe. I caught all the convicts and moved them to the big 240 and bought like 30 cardinals and they were all dead in three days.... convicts are pretty much indestructable but that was rediculous.

Hey everyone after a big move 3 weeks ago everything is Great, but unfortunately I lost my male Bolivian ram after the move.. Sad day.. But I added a few plants including about 10 shoots of ludwigia repens.. I shot a quick little video so everyone could see the new layout and how everything has grown, so tell me what y'all think

Re: 35 gal dwarf cichlid
That's a great looking tank. I'd like to do that, but my Cichlids believe that digging and fighting have the same priority.

Re: 35 gal dwarf cichlid
Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate yall's complements..Oh man that's no good.. Cichlids are beautiful but they can def make a mess of plants.. I've seen a few African tanks with Anubias, java fern and java moss and it looks pretty nice.. I bet if you attached them to driftwood it might help them survive and possibly thrive

Re: 35 gal dwarf cichlid
So a couple of my plants have started to flower up over the last week or two and I thought I'd show off the pretty little flowers for all ya'll lol I'm getting some really good growth and budding of new growth.. I should have quite a bit of amazon sword here very soon if anyone wants any. Ive got about 10-12 amazon swords growing out right now that came form the main host and 2 ozelot swords as well
This is one from my anubias nana. I've had it for about 2 years and this is its first flowering bud
This one is from my ozelot sword

Re: 35 gal dwarf cichlid
Hey all, things have grown really nicely and colored up well and with the addition of Barron's massive amazon sword, I thought Id do a little update and show you what my tank has grown into.. I wish I could show the colors better but this is the best I can get with a cell phone pic
Hope you enjoyed!
